2nd Annual Great Portland Pick-Up Across 18 Sites
Portlanders mark Earth Day by cleaning up city parks, neighborhoods
The Great Portland Pick Up took place on Saturday, April 25 from 10am–12pm, and brought together an incredible show of community care across the city. In partnership with the City of Portland’s Office of Sustainability, the Conservancy helped activate 18 cleanup locations, with nearly 500 volunteers coming out to take part.
From Riverton Park to Peaks Island, neighbors, students, families, and local groups showed up ready to make a difference. Volunteers spent the morning collecting trash across parks, streets, and public spaces, creating a cleaner, more welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy.
This event continues to highlight what’s possible when the community comes together. Beyond the visible impact, it’s a reminder of the shared responsibility we all have in caring for Portland’s green spaces.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered, supported, and helped make this day a success. We’re grateful for your time, energy, and commitment to keeping Portland beautiful, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the seasons ahead.
